În comuna Biliești, județul Vrancea, între sat și râul Siret, există un ansamblu de bălți rezultate din vechile săpături cu draglina pentru balast, unele cu adâncimi de până la 10 m, lângă o exploatare de agregate încă activă. Speciile menționate de pescari sunt știuca (de dimensiuni mari), roșioara, bibanul și albitura.
