About this spot
Balta Suhaia este un lac de luncă de circa 1000 ha de luciu de apă, în stânga luncii Dunării, lângă satul Suhaia, județul Teleorman, la aproximativ 20 km sud-est de Alexandria; este rezervație naturală avifaunistică și sit Ramsar, alimentată din Dunăre prin Gârla lui Iancu. În apă trăiesc plătică, biban, caras, roșioară, babușcă, șalău, crap, amur, somn și știucă.
