În locul numit „La Gropan”, lângă vama Giurgiu (capătul drumului de lângă gardul vămii), Dunărea este un punct de pescuit pe apele publice, cu specii tipice de ape mari precum crap, somn, șalău, știucă și caras. Se pescuiește cu permisul de pescuit recreativ ANADSPA (fosta ANPA); fiind zonă de frontieră, verifică și regulile Poliției de Frontieră.
