Who we are
We are a team of developers with over 10 years of experience building apps and software platforms -- and, above all, passionate anglers.
We know what it's like to spend the evening searching groups and forums for a lake for the next day, to call three numbers before someone answers, to not be sure whether it's closed season on the river near home or which permit you need. RoFish is the app we wished we had, built with the same care we put into preparing our gear before a session.
Why we made RoFish
Information about fishing in Romania was scattered: Facebook groups, old websites, hard-to-find rules, outdated prices. We set out to bring it all together in one place, verified and easy to use -- from your phone, right on the bank.
What we promise
Free for anglers
Search, the map, the guides, the tools and the community are free. Using RoFish costs you nothing.
Verified information
The data comes from official sources (ANADSPA, formerly ANPA, closed-season orders, the rules of associations and lakes) and from anglers, and every change goes through moderation.
Respect for fish and nature
We help you respect the closed season and minimum sizes, release fish properly and report poaching and pollution.
Your data is yours
Your fishing journal is yours alone. We don't sell your personal data, and you can delete your account at any time, along with everything you've published.
We listen to the community
Many features in the app started from anglers' suggestions. You write to us, we read everything and we reply.
What you'll find in RoFish
- Private lakes and public waters from all over the country, on the map and searchable by price, species, accommodation and distance.
- For each spot: prices, rules, the permit you need, the weather, the wind on the water, reviews and photos from anglers.
- Tools for your fishing day: “Am I allowed to fish?”, good hours, pressure, water temperature, journal, water levels.
- Guides: species, knots, rigs, groundbait, proper release, permits, closed season, first aid.
- Community: posts, chat, competitions and events, reporting poaching and pollution.
What's next
We work on RoFish every week: more verified lakes, more spots with online booking, new tools and better guides. We decide the direction together with you -- tell us what would help you.
Associations, town halls, press, partners
Do you manage public waters, organise competitions, run a lake or a tackle shop, or write about fishing? Write to us: we'll keep the water rules up to date together, announce your events and we can work together.
