Method feeder
Carp and big Prussian carp in still water; the simplest carp feeder rig.
easy · self-hooking

What you need
- main line 0.22-0.28 mm
- flat method feeder 30-60 g (inline or with a snap)
- groundbait mould
- short hooklength 8-12 cm, 0.18-0.22 mm or braid
- size 8-12 hook with a “hair” or a pellet band
- method groundbait / 2 mm micro pellets
Steps
- 1
Thread the line through the inline feeder (or tie it to the feeder's snap with an elastic), add the quick-change connector.
- 2
Attach the short hooklength, with a hook with a “hair” for 8-10 mm boilies/wafters or a band for pellets.
- 3
Dampen the method mix until it sticks when squeezed; put the hook bait in the bottom of the mould, then the groundbait, then press the feeder in.
- 4
Cast to the same spot every time (use the reel's line clip), keep the line taut and the tip slightly bent.
- 5
The bite comes as a jerk of the tip: the fish has hooked itself; don't “strike”, just lift the rod.
Tips
- Recast every 5-10 minutes even without a bite: frequent small helpings make the difference.
- Brightly coloured 8-10 mm wafters (semi-buoyant) are the number 1 bait on the method.
