Steps

  1. 1

Double the thicker line, forming a loop.

  2. 2

Pass the thin line through the loop and make 10-12 tight turns with it around the loop (both of its strands), working from the tip towards the base.

  3. 3

Bring the thin end back and pass it out through the loop on the same side it went in.

  4. 4

Wet it, first tighten the turns by gently pulling the thin line, then both main lines.

  5. 5

    Trim the ends short.

Tips

  • For very thin braid to thick fluorocarbon, the FG knot is slimmer and stronger, but takes practice.
