Arbor knot (reel knot)

Steps

1. 1

   Wrap the line once around the spool.

2. 2

   Tie an overhand knot with the end around the main line.

3. 3

   Tie a second overhand knot in the end only (a stopper).

4. 4

   Pull the main line: the first knot slides down and tightens on the spool, the second stops it.

Tips

• With braid, first put 10-20 m of mono as backing (or a piece of tape) -- otherwise the braid slips on the spool.
