Steps

  1. 1

Double the line and pass the doubled loop through the hook's eye (10-15 cm).

  2. 2

Tie a simple overhand knot with the doubled loop around the doubled line, without tightening it -- the hook hangs in the middle.

  3. 3

Pass the (whole) hook through the remaining loop.

  4. 4

Wet it and tighten by pulling the main line and the tag end together; the loop settles onto the eye.

  5. 5

    Trim the tag end.

Tips

  • With big lures, the loop must be big enough for the whole lure to pass through it.
  • It's the standard knot for braid.
