Balta Castranova se află la circa 40 km de Craiova, pe drumul spre Caracal, la aproximativ un kilometru de comuna Castranova, județul Dolj (cel mai probabil Acumularea Castranova, circa 18 ha). Conform singurei descrieri disponibile (o listare publică din 2008), jumătate din baltă are multă papură cu limpezișuri, iar cealaltă jumătate are loc pentru lansete; se prinde caras și, mai rar, crap mare, la râme și porumb. Astăzi nu există informații despre un administrator: se pescuiește cu permisul de pescuit recreativ ANADSPA (fosta ANPA).
