About this spot

The Buzău River is 325 km long, rises in the Ciucaș Mountains and flows into the Siret, in Brăila County; its ancient Greek name, attested from the 4th century BC, was Mousaios. In Buzău County it descends along the Buzău Valley, past Gura Teghii and Siriu, leaves the Subcarpathians and flows through the plain, past the municipality of Buzău, the county seat. The known fishing spots are in the area of the localities of Gura Teghii and Siriu, at Lunca and near the municipality of Buzău. It is a public water, contracted by AJVPS Buzău in several habitats: “Râul Buzăul superior cu afluenții săi”, “Valea Buzăului superior” (from the mouth of the Crasna stream to the mouth of the Grămăticu River, 48 km), “Valea Buzăului inferior” (from the Siriu dam to the mouth, 12 km) and “Râul Buzăul inferior” (from the confluence with the Sibiciu stream to the county line, 107 km). In addition to the ANADSPA (formerly ANPA) recreational fishing permit you need the association's permit. Observe the closed seasons and the legal minimum sizes.
