On private lakes you pay the lake's fee, with no state permit. On public waters you need the ANADSPA (formerly ANPA) permit and, on contracted waters, the association's permit (see Which permit do I need?). General closed season on natural waters: 9 April - 7 June, plus the closed seasons by species (all the periods).
