Information · Wild water fishing · Fishing permit

Which permit do I need?

The permit depends on the water you fish, not on the species or the method. On the page of each water in RoFish, the “Permit” row tells you directly which one applies to you.

I fish at a private lake (with an operator and a fee).

No permit

You don't need any state permit. You pay the lake's fee and follow its rules. The ANADSPA (formerly ANPA) permit isn't required and doesn't replace the fee.

I fish on the Danube (outside the Delta), on the Black Sea or on a public river/lake that isn't contracted by any association.

ANADSPA (formerly ANPA)

You only need the ANADSPA (formerly ANPA) recreational fishing permit -- it's free, you get it online in a few minutes and show it on your phone when checked.

I fish on a public river or lake contracted by an association (AJVPS, AVPS, APS, fishing club).

Association

You need the ANADSPA permit AND the permit (or membership fee) of the association that manages that water. The association's name is shown on the water's page, in the “Permit” row.

I fish on a mountain lake or river managed by a forestry directorate (Romsilva).

Romsilva

You need the permit issued by that forestry directorate (daily or annual), in addition to the ANADSPA permit. The forestry directorate is shown on the water's page.

I fish in the Danube Delta (Biosphere Reserve).

ARBDD (Delta)

The ANADSPA permit is NOT valid in the Delta. You need the ARBDD recreational fishing permit (free) and the reserve access permit (paid). Special rules: max. 5 kg/day, a single carp, pike, zander or catfish per day, tents only in authorised places.

The water is marked “Fishing forbidden”.

Fishing forbidden

Biological recovery zone, strict reserve or drinking-water reservoir: no fishing with any permit. We only show them in the app with this note.
